Step 1
Pull 4” of the inner wire out the end of the leadcore and break off.



Step 2
Fold the leadcore down to where the inner wire was removed.



Step 3
Hook the splicing needle into the leadcore at this point, turn pushing needle back up inside the hollow braid.



Step 4
After 2” piece the needle out through braid.



Step 5
Attach the gate latch a few mm from the end of the leadcore.



Step 6
Slowly pull the tag end back down through gently twisting and pulling.



Step 7
Once tag end is out, set the size of loop you want and trim excess off.



Step 8
Splice completed !




Few more tips when splicing...

1) Once you have spliced a loop in one end of your leadcore leader and want to do another loop in the other end simply form an over hand loop half way down the leader, this prevents when pulling the wire inner out at step one leaving a gap between the splice you have already done as its impossible to pull the wire around the formed overhand.

2) When completing a spliced loop instead of trimming the tag end you can burn it with a lighter and run your finger and thumb over it just as it melts, giving you a flat finnish.
