5 ways to use a Hook bead

A tiny piece of rubber can do so much!

1) Get the best hair position
Trapping the hair on the bend of the hook so the bait sits directly under the hook, this also helps the hook turn in the mouth. It's the perfect configuration for bottom-bait fishing.

2) Keep your corn in place
Using a real and fake piece of corn directly on the shank of the hook. Place hook bead on a long shank hook followed by a real piece of corn or maize. Then attach a fake piece of corn as this grips really while, buffer the two together this in turn pushes the real piece against the hook bead holding it in place.

3) Full movement
Using two hook beads either side a hook ring swivel on the bend of the hook shank this not only helps the hook turn but gives your hookbait full movement. Great for bottom bait or pop-up rigs.

4) Blow back effect
With just a single hook bead, placed on a long shank hook, upon ejection the hookbait can travel down the shank leaving the hook point free to find a hook hold.

5) Worm stop
Worms are fantastic bait in the right situation. When using them they can mask your hook point so by using a hook bead on the shank push against your wiggly worm this keeps the point clear.

Experiment yourself with the hook beads, we are sure there are many more ways and applications for these little gems.
